English Language Challenges


This is my first semester having English at the University and it’s been so good because I haven’t had English as a subject since, I graduated from the school on 2015, so it’s has been very nice to practice it again. Also I have learned new words like “major”, “public management” and some others,
Doings blogs has helped me to practice writing and to think in English. Also, I have learned about the interests of my partners and it has been good to know their opinions about some very interesting topics, like drugs legalization and abortion.

I think that I need to keep improving my English, because I still get so nervous when I’m speaking. Also sometimes I forget about the verbal tenses, so that’s something that I have to practice. Although that, I think that my English is good and I can understand almost everything when someone is talking to me and when I am reading books or watching TV series or anything in English.

Lately I’ve been using English a lot. Last Tuesday I was walking on the street and a tourist asked me if I spoke English, I said yes and he asked me for help to go for an ice cream. It was very nice to have the chance to help him, so I confirmed that English is so important these days in a lot of aspects of the life. Also I watch a lot of TV series and sometimes I watch them without subtitles or when I’m listening to music I can understand what they say without reading the Lyrics! So, for sure English is so important and I want to keep practicing it.

    I watched "How I Met Your Mother" in English without subtitles, at the beginning it was difficult to understand but after a while you get used to. Greetings!!!

    Blogs are a good tool to learn grammar they are also useful to express our ideas. I agree with you that we were able to express our opinion about abortion, women in the army, among others. It was a good experience!

    Good thing you could help the tourist! It has happened to me several times and I panic and can not say anything haha. Then I try to speak my best to help.

Studying Public Management

I wanted to study Public Management since I was 16 years old, but my parents and friends did not like the idea so much. They said that I had to study law because I was so good at arguing and I’d get a better job and a better salary. Postgraduate studies

I think that nowadays is really necessary and important to have postgraduate studies, because you may have a better job and a better salary if you do it, and it’s an opportunity to become a better professional, with more knowledge. I think that finishing the major of Public Management, I’d like to study the Master in Government and Public Management at the University of Chile.  Then, I’d like to study another Master, but this time related to International Affairs, because I want to work on the Ministry of International Affairs. I would like to study it on Spain, specifically at the "Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona", because it is one of the best Universities in the world and I would like to live in Barcelona for some time because I really love that city and there are a lot of things that I would like to do there! For that reason, I would like to study it as a part-time course, so during my free time I can travel to other countries in Europe and visit some football...

A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT

A country I'd really like to go is Spain. It is located on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe and it's bordered to the north by France and Andorra and to the west by Portugal. Also, Spain's territory includes two archipelagoes, the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea and the Canary Islands at the Atlantic coast. The capital and the largest city is Madrid and I’d like to visit it, but where I would really love to go is to Barcelona, because I am a huge fan of the Football Club Barcelona and is one of my dreams to attend a match at the Camp Nou (the FC Barcelona's stadium)!  Barcelona is a very beautiful city. It has beaches, stadiums, and many awesome buildings from the medieval times, making Barcelona a very interesting city. I'd really like to visit them all! Also, it has some of the best Universities in the world. If I have the chance I would really love to study there, maybe an exchange or a major, I don’t know yet.
